Pointer Sisters Rock! - If you saw DirecTV's new game show "Rock and a Hard Place" hosted by Meatloaf, then you know that the Pointer Sisters won by answering the most questions correctly and by doing a superb job playing kazoos! The money they won went to the new Cancer Center at Milford Regional Hospital in Milford, Massachusetts and to The Elizabeth Taylor HIV/AIDS Foundation. Below is a brief clip from the show:

There is no one more disappointed than the Pointer Sisters for the cancelation of the London show. There is nothing we hate more than to cancel a show. We do hope to get back to London as soon as possible to do a show for our Fans. We do hate to disappoint anyone ,especially ourselves. Love Anita

QUEEN LATIFAH COVERS A POINTER SISTERS' CLASSIC

September 25, 2007: Queen Latifah's new CD "Trav'lin' Light" on Verve Records includes a cover of the Pointer penned How Long(Betcha Got a Chick on the Side)! The single was in the Top 20 on the pop charts and hit #1 on the R&B for The Pointer Sisters in 1975. The original recording of the song on the Pointer's album "Steppin" was seven minutes and twenty-one seconds long!

How Long (Betcha Got a Chick on the Side) was written by Anita Pointer, Bonnie Pointer and David Rubinson.


Special Things is finally available on CD! Wounded Bird Records released this re-issue on 7/17/07. Originally released on Planet Records in 1980 and certified gold, it features the hit "He's So Shy". The album's title track was written by Anita Pointer and other songwriters include Burt Bacharach, Carol Bayer-Sager and Peter Allen. The re-issue includes a bonus track: "Movin' On", which was the B-side of "He's So Shy" and was not included on the original album! Available at HMV, CDUniverse.
